Human Resources Assistant - Recruitment

We have a unique opportunity for a Human Resources Assistant to join First National Bank LI as a member of the HR team. The ideal candidate will provide support to the Recruiting function and will work closely with the HR team to deliver exceptional service to our 1N employees.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the recruitment process to hire qualified job applicants for all open positions within the Bank. Collaborates with Branch/Department Managers to understand the skills and competencies required for the openings.

Assists with the communication of information to candidates, ensuring they have appropriate information for interviews.

Assist with the tracking recruiting activities and providing candidate status in a weekly report.

Assist with the preparation and completion of the annual Affirmative Action Plan.

Assist with the new hire process – preparing offer letters and sending out new hire packages to candidates, completing and submitting new hire paperwork to the appropriate departments and scheduling the hire for orientation.

Conducts pre-employment background checks. Communicate with background vendor regarding pending reports and makes inquiries regarding delays.

Maintain existing sourcing resources and implement new strategies to build a pipeline of available candidates in anticipation of hiring needs.

Maintain employee records in payroll/HRIS systems.

Effectively utilize sourcing tools including internal database searches, job boards, social media and referrals

Manage candidate expectations during the interview process, creating an excellent candidate experience.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Business Administration, with minor in Human Resources or equivalent work experience

Minimum 2 years related business experience, working knowledge of ADP WorkForce Now a plus

General knowledge of Human Resources and Recruitment functions

Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems a plus

Able to work independently, accurately and meet deadlines

Strong organization skills, able to handle multiple tasks

Excellent communication skills - verbal and written

Proficient with Microsoft Office
